Catholic Schools Week starts Sunday, January 29th. The theme for Catholic Schools Week 2012 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Academics. Service.”  The theme expresses three priorities that make Catholic schools stand out from other educational institutions. Children learn about faith—not just basic Christianity, but how to have a relationship with God. They concentrate on academics, which in Catholic schools are held to the highest standards, so they can reach their highest potential. They practice service—giving time, talent and effort to help others—as an expression of both faith and good citizenship. This combined focus on faith, academics and service prepares students for full and meaningful lives.

Catholic Schools Week also marks the beginning of the enrollment process for the 2012-13 school year.  Anyone who might be interested in our school is encouraged to contact us and attend the Open House during Catholic Schools Week.

After a successful first attempt last year, Seven Sorrows Youth Ministry is one again making -- and selling --- chocolate Easter Eggs! Eggs will be available in milk, dark or white chocolate, in your choice of butter cream, peanut butter or coconut filling.

Orders for eggs are being accepted now, with pickup beginning February 24th. If you'd like to place an order, click here for the order form. Eggs will be available for purchase after Masses from February 24th through April 1st.

As well, Youth Ministry welcomes donations of Jif Peanut Butter (2 lb jar) and confectioner's sugar (preferably 7 lb. bags), which can be dropped off at the Rectory or School Office.

Parents, get ready for a child-free evening on Saturday, November 11th,  from 4:30 to 8:15. Spend time with your Valentine--go to dinner, watch a movie, or just enjoy the quiet at home. Your children will have dinner and lots of fun with the Seven Sorrows Youth Ministry. Don't delay in signing up; space is limited.

IS IT REALISTIC FOR US TO THINK THAT WE COULD DOUBLE THE SIZE OF OUR PARISH IN ONE YEAR?

Why not? Why shouldn’t we aim high? Really, is it that high at all? Is it really so unrealistic to ask every member of our Parish to shepherd one soul back to the Sacraments and to the practice of their faith in the next year? Is that so impossible, for each one to reach one, and work with them for a year and to invite them to come and learn more of the faith?

Well, we are going to try.
