Parish Festival

Picture
Mark your calendars for the dates of the 2013 Festival: July 11th, 12th and 13th.

While doing your Spring cleaning, remember to set aside your treasures for the Festival Flea Market. You can drop off your Flea Market items in the Gym in June. Items can be dropped between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on June 12, 19, 26 and July 3. The Flea Market cannot accept electronics (including computers and TVs), clothing, furniture or children's car seats.

Also, it's time to think about gift baskets for the Basket Raffle. Even if you cannot donate a whole basket, you may have items to contribute. Have you received gift cards that you will not use? Are there unloved gifts in your "regift" pile? Has someone in your family received a duplicate gift? These items can all be put to use when assembling baskets for the Festival. Donations of baskets, ribbon and cellophane wrap are also welcomed. You can drop off donations at the parish office or call Maria Angelo at 566-5830.

For updates on the Festival, heck back here and on the Seven Sorrows
Facebook page.

Shopping for Religious items?

Our Lady's Rosary has moved from the Colonial Park Mall to Hummelstown. You can find the store at 20 S. John Street (three blocks west of the square, make Left, store is on right), Hummelstown, 717-829-4094.

Items in stock include: new Pope Francis books, Second Vatican Council books, books on the Mass, Saints, Mary, Rosary, children's books, Bibles, Catechisms, Prayer Books, Missals. Plus crucifixes, statuary, rosaries, saints medals, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Baptism, Wedding, etc. Special orders can be taken for items not in stock.

Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of Mary

Seven Sorrows Parish now prays the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows of Mary a half hour before all Masses.  This devotion is known by several different names including the Servite Rosary of the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady, or the Seven Dolor Rosary.  In some respects it is similar to the 5 decade (Dominican) Rosary that most of us are very familiar with, and yet, there will be much to learn for most of us too!

The Chaplet will be led by members of the Council of Catholic Women. As explained below, the beads used for praying the Chaplet of the Seven Sorrows are similar to a traditional Rosary. You may use your Rosary to pray along with the Chaplet or purchase a Chaplet Rosary from the Parish Office.
