The mission of the bereavement committee is to provide comfort and support to parishioners who have experienced the loss of a loved one through death. Members of the ministry attend the viewing and funeral of a member of the parish and keep in touch by way of cards and telephone calls throughout the first year following the death. They provide information booklets (located in a wall rack in the hallway behind the cry room in the church) on a wide variety of topics, as well as information about community resources to assist with special needs.
Each year in November, the Bereavement Ministry plans a Mass of Remembrance, which focuses specifically on deceased parishioners, and deceased relatives of parishioners from the previous year and the people who grieve their loss.
