Council of Catholic Women (CCW)

Under the maternal guidance of Our Lady of Good Counsel, the purpose of the Council of Catholic Women is to support, empower and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service. The parish CCW is the grass roots for a larger scale of diocesan councils and the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW). As an affiliate of the NCCW, the work of the CCW extends beyond the parish into community, diocese, national and international areas.

We work together to touch the lives of every parish member through these areas of concern:

Church

- Provide gifts for each Sacrament

- Sponsor and promote Retreats

- Organize and support the recitation of the Rosary in May and October
-
Promote the use of Marian Shrines in all church affairs

- Promote special events – Marian Day, Morning Day of Prayer

Community Concerns

- Actively support the Thrift Shop

- Schedule Meals on Wheels workers

- Sponsor collections for Migrant Workers

- Contribute to Lourdeshouse and Morning Star Pregnancy Centers

- Support Project Mercy

Family Concerns

- Recognize Silver Anniversaries

All women of Seven Sorrows are welcome and encouraged to participate and share their time, treasure and talents. We meet the first Monday of every month in the school cafeteria.
