The Kindergarten class took a field trip to the Middletown Giant Grocery Store. They visited learning stations that highlights various food groups and they learned the importance of good nutrition and healthy living. Each child received a healthy goody bag to take home.

Each year during the month of May, our nation celebrates LAW DAY. The purpose of Law Day is to educate people of all ages about the American legal system. On Thursday, May 10th, the Honorable John F. Cherry visited the sixth, seventh and eighth grade classes to support this endeavor.

On May 1st, the school participated in a May Crowning after Mass. Eighth grade students Virginia Kern and Peter Rankin crowned the Blessed Virgin Mary statue.


The following students received artist awards for the month of March: Kindergarten– Grace Turjan, Eadora Moradkhan, Alfred Turjan, Christian Mikulski, Madeline Fox, Averie Kalonick, Rosa Carbon, Peyton Attivo, Aiden Kring; First grade– Carina Farber, Alexis Horetsky, Samuel Vargas, Davis Henderson, Madison Breen, Delainey Shroy; Second grade– Cody Rosati, Andrew Colman; Third grade– Jack Stewart, Gina Auerbeck, Francesco Cangialosi, Ali Gray, Matthew Smedley; Fourth grade– Evan Attivo, Diego Berrones, Jonathan Jumper, Andrina Roller, Kiera Guckavan, Christina Marcellus; Sixth grade– Phillip Bertovic, Maureen Hartwell.

The school held their annual talent show featuring the students singing, playing musical instruments, acting and dancing. The show concluded with a dance routine by the facility.

The winners of the fifth and sixth grade spelling bee were Madison Nemshick, first place and Mario Corradi, runner up.


The following students were chosen Student of the Month for February’s character, charity: kindergarten– Ryan Thear, David Kemmerling; first grade– Jake Kern; second grade– Nicolas Corradi; third grade– Michael Astfalk; fourth grade– Julie Korac; fifth grade– Nicholas Camposarcone; sixth grade– Maryssa Kemmerling; seventh grade– Emily Barb; eighth grade– Virginia Kern.

Students with Baby Chicks

The 4-H school enrichment program, Chick Hatch Project, sponsored by the Penn State Dauphin County Extension, provided chicken eggs and an incubator to the science lab at school. Students were responsible for the care of the eggs, including turning them 3 times each day. The eggs hatched right before Easter. Program assistant Kim Elicker and 4-H club member, Lia Schmittel provided instruction on the incubation and development of the embryo and also opportunities the 4-H has to offer.

Mrs. Cynthia Gulya accompanied eighth graders Katie Hartwell, Alexis Cleland, Sarah Carson and Carolyn Ciccocioppo to the Glenna Hazeltine Women in Math and Science Convention at Millersville University. The conference is held to encourage young men and women interested in science and mathematics the opportunity to meet and talk with professional women in the science and math oriented careers.

Awards for high academic distinction for the second trimester were presented to: 4th grade-Hannah Arnold, Anthony Larry, Colin Nemshick; 6th grade– Maureen Hartwell, Madison Nemshick, Adam Peifer; 7th grade– Noah Bamert; 8th grade– Carolyn Ciccocioppo.
